Forestry

Most of the work I do in forestry is for private land owners who would like to get on forest land tax designation, or open space designation, both which lower their taxes by getting out of the real estate value of the land. This tax incentive was put in to help landowners keep their land and trees or open space. I make maps of their land, note the nature and health of the stands and make recommendation for the stewardship and management of their stands. I supervise activities. I enjoy bush-waking around in the woods, anytime of year, and also enjoy sharing what I find with the landowners. I have a masters in Forestry from the University of Washington and was Tree Farm Family manager for the White River area for Weyerhaeuser when they had a similar incentive program for land owners.
