Claudia Ross-Kuhn NTP LMT MA BA
Many of my studies and disciplines are related to natural sciences, health, creativity, and spiritual development. I am a nutritional therapy practitioner (NTP) certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association since 2007. I love this field as it empowers many to better health in so many ways. I have been state certified for massage therapy (LMT) since 1981, I am an insurance provider ( my forms are on this site). I have done years of continued education for many modalities, (see my services for more on what kind of work I do). At the University of Washington, I received my MA in forest resources, my BA in fine arts, as a painter, and did much matriculate work in human physiology and behavioral studies. I have studied many courses on the power of our mind regarding healing at the Center For Spiritual Living, did ten years of re-evaluation co-counseling. My meditation studies began with tai chi and chi kung, then I used the Sufi’s methods, and now am a member of the Siddha Yoga Association.
My wellness related studies began in my twenties with Tai Chi which branched into Qi Gong (chi kung), Bagua (Pa kwua), Shin Yi and meditation. Having an interest in all bodywork, I have also been influenced by Yoga, Pilates and Somatics. The martial art school I am affiliated with is Wuji.com. My best teachers and mentors in martial arts were primarily Fook Yonge, Andy Dale, and Harvey Kurland; All masters of their martial art studies, Fook being a truly Grand Master. Muktananda and Gurumaii Chidvalasananda, have been my most important meditation teachers, also very grand in their teachings. About ten years into the above studies, is when I began studying bodywork, and then nutritional therapy.
As to the professionally significant characteristics of myself; For massage, I have strong, sensitive hands and direct my intentions through them automatically as a result of my practices and years of experience. I am acutely aware of the interrelationships of our body parts and am prone to thorough corrective work. Digestion and peace of mind are natural extensions of body work, because there are so many ways that digestion and the mind can influence the body and mind. They are inseparable.
This site is primarily about my health services, however I am also an artist. I have a page on my art, and can help beginners get started.
I am also a forester (MA university of Washington) . I do consulting for private land owners regarding their stands, potential tax designations and serve as a legal witness. I have supervised most silvacultural activities.
I am mother of Tobias Kuhn a musician and producer, and married to his father Jim Kuhn, The Paella King. Having lived abroad, I speak Italian, Spanish, and some French as well as my native English.
